Member Fees and Billing
Membership to Magazines Canada is calculated on a yearly basis. Invoices correspond to our fiscal year and are sent annually in the first week of April. The membership year is April 1 to March 31.
Your annual fee is based on your average circulation per issue. If your company's advertising revenues exceed $3 million, these are also considered in our formula. Our general fee scale is composed of six categories:
0 to 2,000 2,001 to 10,000 10,001 to 25,000 25,001 to 50,000 50,001 to 99,999 100,000 and above
To find out more about membership fees, please download our Membership Kit, which contains our current fee amounts.
Invoices are payable to Magazines Canada and may be paid by cheque or credit card. If paying by credit card, contact our accounting department at x228. Members in the distribution program can arrange to have their newsstand sales be deducted from their outstanding membership fee balance. This is arranged through distribution accounts and the accounting department. Contact Coordinator, Distribution Accounts Christopher Sorenson x230 or Financial Controller Yuri Shegera x228.
To remain in good standing, members must publish at least one issue annually and pay membership dues and/or fees for professional development in full.
Cancellation of membership must be obtained in writing. Send a letter or email notifying us of cancellation addressed to the Membership Office of Magazines Canada, 425 Adelaide Street West, Suite 700, Toronto ON M5V 3C1.
Membership entitles you and your colleagues to our exclusive programs and services, such as circulation marketing and the Travelling Consultants Program. As a member, you also receive discounts on professional development opportunities, which can be a huge advantage to your publication. Visit Benefits to learn more about how you can maximize your membership.

Probationary membership is a special membership category for magazines that have been publishing for less than one year at the time of Magazines Canada acceptance. Special application forms exist for multi-title companies. Multi-title companies must submit all of their qualifying titles for membership and, when new titles are launched, are required to submit eligible titles for membership on a per title basis. Contact the Membership Office x238 for application forms and more information.

You can also keep your contact information up-to-date via your profile on the Magazines Canada website.
