Founded in 1997, Taddle Creek is devoted to presenting less-traditional forms of fiction and poetry. Although the magazine presents work from established writers on occasion, its focus is on new and up-and-coming authors, mainly from the Toronto area. While the magazine's main focus is literature, it also devotes a portion of each issue to the visual arts in the form of architectural essays, photographic spreads, and "illustrated fiction." With high standards of both editorial and design, Taddle Creek's goal is to promote new literature through a forum that is interesting, artistic and accessible. Through platforms that include the printed magazine, a Web site, a series of audio projects, and frequent live events, Taddle Creek aims to be more than just a typical literary magazine.
