| Newsstand Marketing ProjectThe NMP is an exciting annual program that provides magazines with a higher profile at the retail level. Over 100 Magazines Canada-distributed member magazines are participating in the project this year. The NMP provides participating titles with premium promotional space at independent retailers, Presse Commerce and Chapters/Indigo. The NMP was funded last year by the Canada Magazine Fund of the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Ontario Arts Council and the Ontario Media Development Corporation. The project also enables Magazines Canada to merchandize titles, hire regional sales representatives (who increase draws and number of titles carried by retailers) and promote Magazines Canada-distributed titles. Members participating in the NMP must run in-kind print advertisements from the Genuine Canadian Magazines campaign. For more information, please contact Barbara Bates.
